Flag costly for Mohsni

Southend's makeshift striker Bilel Mohsni felt he was robbed of a winning goal against Northampton at Roots Hall on Saturday.

Paul Sturrock's men had to settle for a 2-2 draw after throwing away a two-goal lead, but 24-year-old Mohsni is certain his close-range effort should not have been ruled out for offside 12 minutes from time.

Mohsni told the Southend Echo: "I was very angry about it because I was not offside."

He added: "I was not in front of the defender but the linesman seemed to be against me the whole game.

"If he seemed to be unsure about what to do he would give it offside and that just made it so frustrating.

"The decision was wrong and probably stopped us winning the game."
