Queens Park Rangers manager Neil Warnock has revealed he was in talks to sign Craig Bellamy, until Liverpool lodged their interest on transfer deadline day.
Rangers signed three players on the final day of dealings, including Jason Puncheon, Anton Ferdinand and Shaun Wright-Phillips.
Despite a successful say, Warnock reveals he did miss out on one target, Liverpool's new signing Craig Bellamy.
“I spoke to Craig Bellamy but he loves Liverpool and when Ngog went I knew that he’d be joining them," Warnock said.
“If I’m honest I was so pleased about this transfer window because it gave me a chance to sign these players.
“I quite like the idea of just doing away with the transfer window but really it helped me enormously because I had to do in ten days what I really should have been doing in 12 or 14 weeks.
Liverpool's addition of Bellamy was their eighth summer signing as they look to surge back into the Champions League spots.
