Collins out of Blades encounter

Published Add your comment

Midfielder Michael Collins will miss Scunthorpe's clash with Sheffield United on Saturday with an Achilles injury.

Fellow midfielder Michael O'Connor is still working his way back to full fitness but boss Alan Knill is not too concerned due to the size of his squad.

"Michael (Collins) has got a sore Achilles so he won't be in contention for Saturday," Knill told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

"We're not sure how long he will be out. He's just had an inflammation around his Achilles. It's slowly got worse.

"But I still have four players competing for two spaces, which is good.

"In Oli (Norwood), Damien (Mozika) and Togs (Sam Togwell), we've got some decent players there. We've got plenty of competition."
