Samir Nasri could miss the opportunity to make his home debut for Manchester City, after the Frenchman broke a bone in his hand while on international duty.

The 24-year-old picked up the injury during France's Euro 2012 qualifying draw with Romania, despite only featuring for the final 15 minutes at the newly opened National Arena.

Initial reports suggest that Nasri has a broken finger, but City will investigate the injury to discover the full extent of the damage.

Nasri made a reported £24 million move to the Etihad Stadium earlier this summer and started in impressive fashion during his debut against Tottenham Hotspur, creating three of City's five goals at White Hart Lane.

The injury, if deemed serious by City, could rule Nasri out of making his home debut for his new club against Wigan Athletic, while he could also be considered a doubt for their Champions League opener against Napoli.
