Oldham Athletic Vs Stevenage, Sat 10 Sep 2011

Oldham boss Paul Dickov will be without a recognised left-back when his side play host to Stevenage.

Bradley Diallo is suspended after being sent off on his full debut during last weekend`s 1-1 draw at home to Huddersfield.

Paul Black is also sidelined for five weeks with a torn groin muscle, leaving Dickov with a major defensive headache.

David Mellor, a second-year trainee who was recently handed his first professional contract, looks set to be handed the role.

Normally a midfielder, Mellor played left-back for the reserves in midweek and was named man of the match by reserve manager Lee Duxbury.

The rest of the team looks like being unchanged after a fine display in the draw against the Terriers.

Strikers Chris Beardsley and Craig Reid are expected to keep their places in the Stevenage side.

Both players were restored to the starting line-up against Rochdale last weekend and responded with two goals apiece as Boro won 4-2 at Broadhall Way.

Boss Graham Westley made four changes for that game as Ronnie Henry and Joel Byrom also came into the team.

Jon Ashton, Phil Edwards, Robin Shroot and Byron Harrison were the players to be replaced and they will be hoping to have impressed Westley enough in training this week to force their way back in.

Josh Walker and Ben May, second-half substitutes against Dale, are also options for Westley should he wish to change a winning side.
