Liverpool target Stevan Jovetic has revealed that he wants to play European football again, after recovering from a knew injury at the end of last season.

The Fiorentina winger ended up staying with the Serie A side after deadline day closed, but is clearly aiming to get into the Champions League very soon.

"I hope we can raise this season and qualify for Europe," he said.

"It's been a year and a half ago that the last time I played the whole match. A year and a half waiting for this."

Liverpool were said to be monitoring the situation over Jovetic’s future in the Serie A, but Fiorentina were keen on keeping Jovetic at the club.

And in a blow to Liverpool, the 21-year-old insists he is happy where he currently is, and was pleased with Fiorentina’s summer transfer dealings.

''Club has done some important things in the interim period. Directors lay their hopes in some important players and we do not want to betray them,"Kuc says.

Liverpool will not be too put off by the comments though, with Kenny Dalglish well aware that if the club can offer the right money for their target, Jovetic’s head may be turned in January.
