Hibernian and Aberdeen showed why they occupy the bottom places in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League as they struggled for invention during a goalless draw at Easter Road.

Garry O'Connor missed two decent chances as Hibs edged the first half and Martin Scott twice came close after the break.

Aberdeen improved after a first half in which Richard Foster threatened, but substitute Peter Pawlett had a shot cleared off the line as they pushed for a winner.
