Liverpool are 'frontrunners' to sign Ajax starlet Christian Eriksen in January, according to reports.
The Danish starlet was linked with a handful of clubs across Europe this summer, with some of the top teams in Spain, Germany and England all thought to be keen on a player dubbed 'the next Laudrup'.
TalkSPORT reported earlier in the week that Liverpool and AC Milan were leading the chase for the £15 million-rated 19-year-old, and now various reports in England claim the Reds are well positioned to make their move for the player in the New Year.
Previously built-up relations following the purchase of Luis Suarez from the Godenzonen could prove pivotal for Liverpool, given the interest of so many clubs across Europe.
Damien Comolli is believed to be an admirer of the teenager, and the Liverpool director of football works alongside Kenny Dalglish in searching for transfer targets at Anfield.
The pair enjoyed a successful summer, bringing a number of signings to Merseyside including Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson in the midfield positions.
Despite the number of players in the position at Liverpool, signing Eriksen would be a coup for the Reds, and a battle for the player's signature could be on the cards when the transfer window re-opens.
