Poyet to bide time over Vicente

Published Add your comment

Brighton manager Gus Poyet is in no rush to bring new Spanish signing Vicente into his first team.

The former Valencia winger was left out of the squad for Saturday's 1-0 win at Bristol City after a tough first few days of training with the Seagulls.

Poyet told The Argus: "We won't throw him to the lions without being ready, otherwise people will start talking."

He added: "He experienced in the first three or four days with us the intensity, the legs that he needs. He is going to have a little work to bring him back to 100%.

"Then we will see, depending on the game and if we need him."
