Stevan Jovetic is yet to begin talks over a new contract at Fiorentina, according to the player's agent.
After Arsenal failed in a deadline day bid for the player, reports had suggested the Montenegro international would sign a new contract at the club.
However, the agent of the 23-year-old insists the player is yet to begin talks, alerting Arsenal to his availability.
"The boy feels good and that is the most important thing now," he said.
"He still has two years of contract and I still have no appointment with the club.
"Stevan has always said he wanted to remain, his will is clear. But now the important thing is to do well on the field, the rest there is still a long time for that."
Despite missing out on Jovetic, Arsenal signed four players on the transfer deadline day.
They included German defender Per Mertesacker, on loan Chelsea winger Yossi Benayoun, Brazilian Andre Santos and Mikel Arteta joined the club on deadline day, as Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger frantically tried to rebuild his squad following a summer of upheaval at the Emirates Stadium.
