Bradford boss Phil Parkinson is still hoping to bring an unnamed striker to the club but revealed issues over the player's medical have delayed a potential move.

The Bantams revealed they have been nearing a signing but that the deal has hit a snag after medical complications.

Parkinson told Bradford's official site: "It is still progressing. We have had more talks. I know that the supporters must think that this is becoming a big of a saga but unfortunately things in football aren't necessarily straightforward, especially when it's to do with medicals."

He added: "Things have had to be adjusted before we can come to an agreement.

"It is not just what we are happy to offer him, it is what he is happy to accept as well. All parties have to be happy with the deal, including our medical people.

"We need some more experience up there (in attack). We have some good young players there but another experienced striker certainly wouldn't go a miss."
