Manchester United are ready to cut their losses on misfit forward Mame Biram Diouf, but plan to raise at least £6million from his departure according to The People.
The 23-year-old Senegalese international has struggled to make an impact with the Barclays Premier League champions, and spent last season on loan with Blackburn Rovers.
After a return of just three goals during his spell at Ewood Park, Diouf returned to Old Trafford hoping to be in contention Sir Alex Ferguson's first-team.
But with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez, Dimitar Berbatov, Danny Welbeck and Michael Owen all ahead of him in the Red Devils' pecking order, regular football looks increasingly unlikely.
Diouf moved to Manchester United in 2009 after being recommended by former fans' favourite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but now looks to be on his way out following a lack of progression.
He will though, be handed an opportunity to showcase his ability for United in this year's Carling Cup competition in a bid to attract interest from potential suitors with a view to moving Diouf on in January.
