Patrice Evra has lauded Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs as the best player he has every had the pleasure of playing alongside.
The evergreen midfielder last night extended his record as the oldest goalscorer ever in the Champions League to 37 years and 289 days by netting against Benfica in a 1-1 draw at the Estádio da Luz.
It was also Giggs' 29th strike in European competition and ensured he has now scored in 22 consecutive seasons since making his United debut in 1990.
The Welshman's latest accolade, however, comes from Evra, who has been waxing lyrical about his teammate after a stunning strike in Lisbon.
"We don't use that word legend for many players, but for him it's really easy to use that word," Evra told Sky Sports.
"For me, he's the best player I ever played with.
"He's 37 years old, but he looks like he's never won anything because he is training hard in every training session and every game.
"The goal he scored, for me, is just normal because it's Ryan Giggs. If it was another player we'd say well done, but it's Ryan Giggs, for me, it's just normal. He's a legend."
