Northampton Town manager Gary Johnson says he may have to bring another defender into the club on loan.
21-year-old full-back Seth Nana Ofori-Twumasi, signed from Peterborough United this summer, has picked up a knee injury which the Cobblers boss thinks will keep him out for months.
“I would say [he’s going to be out for] months," Johnson told BBC Radio Northampton.
"But hopefully he’ll recover quickly and he’ll be more experienced for the experience.”
Because of the injury, Johnson is already considering the possibility of a replacement on loan, but laments the loss of Nana.
“We might look at a loan. We’ve just got enough cover but we don’t want to be caught out. I feel sorry for [Nana], he’s such an enthusiastic lad and he’s going to be a top player,” the Cobblers boss continued.
Nana began his career with the Chelsea Youth Team, where he eventually became captain. Johnson signed the player whilst manager of Posh in July 2010, and has again signed him on a permanent contract this summer after switching to Sixfields.
Nana has made six appearances before being stricken down with his knee injury.
