Newcastle striker 'leaves club to rebuild career'

Newcastle United forgotten man Fabio Zamblera has left the club by mutual consent.

The Italian youth international moved to St. James' Park from Atalanta in January 2008, but was unable to break into the Magpies first team during his three years at the club.

Instead, Zamblera spent spells on loan with Sampdoria and Roma in his homeland, although failed to make a senior appearance with either of the Serie 'A' sides.

Dennis Wise was credited with bringing the player to Tyneside three years ago, with Newcastle United believing they had landed a potential star of the future.

"He is one of our best players and can be a star for Newcastle," said Italian U-19 assistant manager Giancarlo Antognoni at the time.

However, things have not worked out for the parties involved, and Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has severed ties with the player.
