Middlesbrough have signed Manchester City forward Alex Tchuimeni-Nimely on a three-month loan deal.

Tchuimeni-Nimley made his City debut and as yet only Barclays Premier League appearance as a substitute in the the 6-1 win over Burnley in April 2010.

Later that month the Liberia-born striker penned a four-year contract with Roberto Mancini's side.

His sole appearance of last season came at Juventus in the Europa League group stages.

Despite scoring 15 goals in 11 games for Liberia's Under-20 side, the Platt Lane academy product switched his international allegiance to England and was in the Three Lions squad for this summer's Under-20 World Cup in Columbia.

The 20-year-old is currently sidelined with a hamstring strain, ruling him out of an immediate Boro debut against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
