The Metro claims that Dimitar Berbatov is set to 'demand' a transfer in January, with the striker receiving limited game time and looking like it will decrease further with the impending return of Danny Welbeck.
Berbatov played just over 10 minutes against Chelsea yesterday, and failed to make an impact.
The striker has hardly featured in Sir Alex Ferguson’s plans for the squad this season, though the United manager continues to insist he will feature for the side in the future.
But now, the paper reports that Berbatov will hand in a transfer request, with the hopes of leaving United for a side that can offer him more game time and a larger part in their plans.
Should United decide to sell Berbatov, Ferguson will make some decent money on the Bulgaria international, though it won’t be close to the £30.75 million that was paid for him back in 2008.
