Arsenal players want a new defensive coach to help fix the club's back-line, according to The Daily Mirror.

Despite making two clean sheets in their opening five Barclays Premier League games, the club have concede 14 goals in the other three, including another four in Saturday defeat Blackburn Rovers.

The loss had condemned Arsenal to their worst start in the league for 58 years, but after reinforcing their back four with the signing of Carl Jenkinson, Per Mertesacker and Andre Santos, the players want a new coach to help rally the troops.

Arsenal are currently without a specialist defensive coach, while many critics are urging the club to move away from the much maligned zonal marking system, despite having conceded just two goals indirectly from a set pieces this season.

The club survived an onslaught from German champions Borussia Dortmund last week, however their form domestically is becoming an headache for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
