African striker opens Newcastle door
Newcastle United - Papiss Demba Cisss could be open to January move
Striker Papiss Demba Cisse insists he is focused on his career at Freiburg but could be open to a move during the January transfer window.
The Senegalese striker no secret of his wish to move to a bigger club during the summer window, however, failed to finalise a transfer away.
But the Newcastle target reveals he isn't yet thinking about his career past the African Nations Cup this summer.
"All I can say is that I will be with Freiburg until December and in January with Senegal at the African Cup," he said.
"The time just before the end of the transfer period was very difficult for me, it was a long time with a lot of uncertainty.
"Now I know that I can concentrate on the Bundesliga and Freiburg.
"We will have to see what next year brings."
Newcastle encountered problems trying to add to their attack during the transfer window, only signing Demba Ba, as the club missed out on the Bryan Ruiz and Mevlut Erdinc.
However, the club still have the funds from the sale of Andy Caroll, meaning Newcastle boss Alan Pardew could still make a move in the winter for the African striker.
