Real Madrid have reportedly won the race to sign Chelsea target Neymar, and will make the Brazilian striker the fourth most expensive player in history.

According to the Daily Mail, the Spanish giants have agreed a fee of £53 million with Santos for Neymar, who will move to the Santiago Bernabeu next summer.

It has also been claimed that the 19-year-old has already undergone a medical after Real representatives flew a doctor to Sao Paulo. However, Neymar denies a deal is in place.

"I have been sold around 30 times already," he told Lancenet.

"There is no truth in those rumours. I am a Santos player and I will stay here for the club's centenary."

He added: "I went to the hospital to solve a personal problem. The rumours are just speculation. There is no deal at all."

Chelsea are also understood to have been pursuing Neymar but, it would appear, have missed their opportunity to sign him.

Andre Villas-Boas' No.2, Roberto Di Matteo, had been dispatched to run the rule over the youngster last month, but it remains unclear as to whether or not Chelsea made a formal attempt to bring Neymar to Stamford Bridge.
