Sven-Goran Eriksson insists Leicester's Carling Cup defeat at Cardiff will have no bearing on the Championship clash between the two sides.

Eriksson's men return to south Wales on Sunday after losing the third round tie on penalties on Wednesday night. Leicester lost 7-6 after finishing extra-time level at 2-2, but the Swede believes the encounter in three days` time will be a totally different contest.

"I don't think this defeat will have any bearing on Sunday," said Eriksson.

"We know that this is a difficult place to come to with all the changes we made, but we all felt it was a good performance. I am sure it will be another tight game between two clubs with the same ambitions, but I hope for a different result on Sunday.

"We will not suffer from this defeat at all because I think all the players produced a good performance, and that is a positive. Okay, we didn't win, but we played well and why not do that again on Sunday?"

Eriksson made 10 changes to the side that beat Brighton in the league last Saturday and he is likely to send out a totally different side to face Cardiff again at the weekend.
