Manchester United have reportedly joined the race to sign Scottish starlet Scott Allan.
The Dundee United midfielder has been linked with a handful of clubs on both sides of the border, with Rangers and Celtic both keen on keeping the player in the SPL.
However, Sir Alex Ferguson has joined the race for his compatriot, according to SkySports, with Manchester United 'hot on the trail' of the 19-year-old.
A Scottish U21 international, Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is also thought to be an admirer of the player.
Old Trafford is an undoubted draw for the teenager, with Scottish skipper Darren Fletcher currently on the Manchester United books.
The Red Devils also dispatched a scout to watch the player against Dunfermline, with Ferguson sending his brother Martin north to watch the player first-hand.
Manchester United have shown a willingness to both invest and play young players this season, with the club reaping the rewards at the top of the Barclays Premier League.
Allan could be another player to add to the Manchester United list, but Terrors boss Peter Houston is hoping the club can keep their prodigious talent at Tannadice.
