Liverpool starlet target Wilfried Zaha has dealt a blow to the handful of clubs pursuing his signature.
The Crystal Palace striker has been earning rave reviews in the Npower Championship and Selhurst Park, and was instrumental in the Eagles' 2-1 Carling Cup win over Middlesbrough in midweek.
His performances have alerted a handful of Barclays Premier League clubs, most notably Liverpool, with fears the cash-strapped south London side may have to cash-in on their prized asset.
An England U19 international and product of the club's academy, Zaha had come to the attention of Kenny Dalglish and Damien Comolli, with the Liverpool pair looking to add further young British talent to the ranks at Anfield.
The Merseysiders have invested heavily in recent years, both on youth and young senior players to create a core of home-grown talent at Liverpool, with Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling and Andy Carroll prime examples.
However, Zaha might be beyond Liverpool, with talkSPORT claiming the player is eager to stay with Palace for the foreseeable future. He's under contract with the club until 2015.
