Inter Milan are ready to scupper Tottenham's long-standing move for Leandro Damiao by making a bid for the Internacional striker in January reports talkSPORT.
The 22-year-old Brazilian international recently signed a new five-year contract with his current club - a move that has been widely received as a tactic to protect the player's market value.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is a long-term admirer of Damiao, and tried to negotiate a deal to bring him to White Hart Lane in the summer transfer window.
Officials from Tottenham and Internacional were locked in negotiations for around two weeks back in July but the clubs could not settle on a fee.
The two clubs retain a strong relationship following Sandro's move to north London last January, and Redknapp is keen for Spurs to push through another winter deal for the talented striker.
However, it has emerged today following the appointment of Claudio Ranieri at the San Siro, that Inter will look to hijack a deal for Damiao, in an attempt to bring him to Serie A.
