Arsenal are keeping an eye on Brighton & Hove Albion defender Lewis Dunk, according to the Daily Mail.

The 19-year-old has endured an excellent start to his Albion career, staring as Gus Poyet’s side have won five of their first eight Npower Championship matches.

However, Arsenal’s defensive problems could lead them to snapping up another defender to add to the three they recruited during the summer transfer window.

Carl Jenkinson has endured a tricky start to his Arsenal career, while Per Mertesacker and Andre Santos are yet to properly adapt to the demands of playing in the Barclays Premier League.

Arsene Wenger’s reputation of bringing through young players may tempt Dunk to make the move from the Amex Stadium, however it is unlikely he’ll be given the opportunity in the first team to help develop his burgeoning reputation.
