Arsenal are being linked with a January move for Brazilian attacking midfielder Raffael.

The 26-year-old playmaker has impressed in the Bundesliga at the start of the new season, his third year in Germany having joined Hertha Berlin from FC Zurich in 2008.

With injuries already starting to affect the Gunners, and Jack Wilshere facing months on the sidelines after Arsenal confirmed the England international needs surgery on his ankle, manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly becoming concerned with the depth of his side, particularly in midfield.

The Frenchman added Mikel Arteta and Yossi Benayoun to his Arsenal side on transfer deadline day, with Per Mertesacker, Park Chu-Young and Andre Santos also moving to the Emirates in August.

However, The Metro claims Arsenal have already turned their attentions to the January transfer window, with the £4 million-rated samba star now on the north Londoners' radar.

Raffina was key to Hertha winning the second tier in Germany, and is now being eyed for the Barclays Premier League.

With African Nations Cup commitments also set to affect the Arsenal squad in the New Year, reinforcements could be key to the club's season, with Raffina now a possible target.
