Ipswich have not received any contact from Fulham regarding the possible recall of goalkeeper David Stockdale.

Stockdale joined Town in the summer on a season-long loan, although the agreement included a 24-hour recall clause. And fears were raised of that being activated when it emerged Fulham number one Mark Schwarzer sustained a back problem which required lengthy treatment towards the conclusion of the club's goalless draw against West Brom at the weekend.

But Ipswich boss Paul Jewell hopes all will be okay, telling the club's official website on Monday morning: "We haven't heard anything from Fulham regarding David."

He added: "Obviously when we heard Schwarzer had picked up a knock we were concerned but, as I said, Fulham haven't been in touch with me.

"We are at the mercy of them a little bit with the 24-hour recall clause and it's not ideal.

"But it was a chance we were willing to take to bring David here and hopefully the gamble will pay off."
