Stuart Parnaby's proposed return to Birmingham City has been scrapped, according to The Mirror
The 29-year-old, currently a free agent, was due to make a return to St Andrews after being released following relegation from the Barclays Premier League.
However, the former Middlesborough defender's move appears off, with Birmingham now left short.
Chris Hughton was hoping to bring in Parnaby to help bolster Birmingham's back-four, with the club's Europa League commitments.
Coupled with that, Birmingham's defensive record at the start of the season is also cause for concern, with 12 goals having been conceded in seven games.
