Dalglish salutes red-hot Suarez

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has admitted striker Luis Suarez is the man his side look to for inspiration and is delighted he has delivered so far.

The Uruguay international's fourth goal of the season secured a 2-1 victory over Wolves at the weekend but his tally in that match - and the current campaign - could well have been more such has been his form. Seven of Liverpool's 10 points this season have come in matches when Suarez has scored, and that contribution has not gone unnoticed.

"Luis scored a great goal (against Wolves) and on another day he may have got another two - maybe he's saving it for when we really need it," said Dalglish. "But if you get three points it doesn't matter if it is one or five - although it would be easier if it was five. When we need something which might get us past the post Luis has produced and I'm sure he'll produce again."

He added:"But he is not someone who just scores goals, he is making goals also as he set up Craig Bellamy for one against Brighton last Wednesday."

While Suarez is excelling once again, his strike partner Andy Carroll has just one goal to show for his efforts this season - and that came against Exeter in the Carling Cup.

The England international had probably his best game of the season against Wolves and showed signs he can forge a partnership with Suarez, despite critics suggesting otherwise.

Left-back Jose Enrique, who by contrast has settled in seamlessly since his summer transfer from Newcastle, said: "Everyone knows Luis is one of the best strikers in the world but he is still young and has to learn a lot.

"I think they (Suarez and Carroll) complement each other well.

"Andy was unlucky not to score. Maybe he tried too many tricks with the chance at the end but I think next time he will score."
