Manchester United are eyeing up Villarreal midfielder Bruno Soriano, according to Spanish radio station Cadena Ser.
The 27-year-old, the former youth academy member, has made over 100 appearances for his home-town side and broke into the international set up in 2010, after Spain's World Cup win in South Africa.
The versatile left-footed star, who can operate at left-back or left-midfield, had had scouts from United over to watch him, ahead of a bid in the January transfer window.
United spent £50 million in the summer, however, failed to sign a creative player to fill the void left by Paul Scholes.
Wesley Sneijder was heavily linked with United, but Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to turn his attention to Soriano.
