After scoring Bristol City's first goal at home this season, Keith Millen could hand Brett Pitman a start when the Robins face Reading on Tuesday.

Pitman came off the bench to score a 79th-minute equaliser for City against Hull and could be rewarded with a place in the starting line-up in the clash with the Royals.

The striker is battling with Jon Stead, Nicky Maynard and Ryan Taylor for one of two berths up front.

Otherwise, Millen is likely to stick with the team which earned a point at the weekend.

The Robins are still without defenders Jamie McAllister and Liam Fontaine.

Both players are recovering from ankle injuries, with McAllister not expected back any time soon and Fontaine closing in on an October return.

Reading are unlikely to be able to call on winger Jimmy Kebe.

Kebe limped out of the Royals' 2-0 win over Doncaster, did not train with the side towards the end of last week and was not included in the matchday squad that drew 1-1 with Coventry on Saturday.

And the Malian is once again a doubt for the away day at Ashton Gate.

However, recent signing Cedric Baseya may find himself in with a chance of a debut appearance for Reading after acclimatising to his new surroundings.

Meanwhile, the Berkshire outfit have allowed midfielder Brian Howard to join Millwall on a three-month loan deal. The former Barnsley man wants first-team football.
