Playing at a club with the size and stature of the reigning Barclays Premier League champions brings its own unique pressure, but it's something that the England international winger is thriving under.
Excited by the challenge of playing in the UEFA Champions League, the 26-year-old is hoping to make his competition debut against FC Basel tonight.
"When you come to a club like Manchester United, you are going to be challenged," said Young at the pre-match press conference. "I am definitely someone who wants to challenge myself at the top level and being able to play in the big competitions at club level is every boy's dream.
"Hopefully I'll be selected and can play a part in the game and I'm looking forward to playing in the Champions League.
"We know it is going to be a tough game, but I'm sure if we impose ourselves on the game as we have done in every other game this season we'll get the three points."
Young has made an impressive start to life at Old Trafford, and has grown in confidence the more minutes he has gained under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson.
With two goals and five assists already to his name this year, the statistics are further testament that the former Aston Villa man is ready to once again take his career to the next level, and he feels he is in the perfect place to do so.
"There have only been a few games this season and I've been delighted with the performances I have put in so far," he continued. "But it's a long season, there are plenty of games that are coming up thick and fast.
"We have a great squad here and we can use all the players because we are involved in a lot of competitions. You need to be able to rotate the squad and every player who goes out there in the Manchester United shirt wants to do well.
"You have to be ready and be on your toes. I feel ready and want to do well every time I pull on the shirt."
