City face Bayern battle
Manchester City will be hoping to replicate their faultless form in the Barclays Premier League when they travel to face German giants Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena on Tuesday.
Five wins from six games, which included victory over Everton this weekend, has seen many consider them as genuine contenders for the domestic tittle, while on the continent the addition of Sergio Aguero and Samir Nasri has alerted many in Europe to City's steady rise.
Their draw with Napoli on matchday one may have tempered expectations, but their illustrious opponents are unlikely to underestimate Roberto Mancini's side.
While City's start to the Premier League may be described as superb, Munich's attempts to reclaim the Bundesliga title have started in equalily startling fashion.
Six wins from seven games, with just one goal conceded, sees Bayern top, and after their victory at Villarreal a fortnight ago, go into Tuesday's tie looking to tighten their grip on Group A.
Manager Jupp Heynckes is expecting a tough test from City, who are looking to become the first England side since Norwich City in 1993, to beat Bayern on their own patch.
"This is an absolute top European team and a huge challenge for us," he said.
"The Champions League is a completely different league. But we are ready. We have players who inspire respect and can decide a game."
