Serie A giants reignite interest in Liverpool star - reports

Inter Milan are alleged to be considering reigniting their interest in Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt.

According to reports in Holland - as cited by The Guardian - the Serie A giants could make a move for Kuyt again, having considered bringing him to the San Siro in 2010.

It was under the tenure of former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez that Inter initially attempted to sign the 31-year-old, who only penned a new contract at Anfield in May.

However, Inter - now managed by Claudio Ranieri - have been backed to take advantage of the fact that Kuyt is no longer guaranteed a regular starting berth for Liverpool.

The summer acquisitions of Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing have seen Kuyt struggle to break into the Reds' midfield, while Luis Suarez, Andy Carroll and Craig Bellamy are vying for striking positions.

But Kuyt is determined to force his way back into Kenny Dallgish's thoughts.

"I'm disappointed to be out of the team," said the Holland international.

"From childhood, I've always been disappointed when I'm not in the team because I'm desperate to be involved and make a good contribution.

"But it also makes me very determined too. I need to continue to prove myself, train as hard as possible and, when I do play, make sure my performance is of a high standard."
