Liverpool are set to rival Tottenham for Brazilian hotshot Leandro Damiao, it has been claimed.
According to the Daily Mail, the Reds are pondering a January bid for the £22 million-rated striker, while Spurs have previously had a £15 million offer rejected by Internacional.
Damiao has been on the Spurs radar for a number of months, with Harry Redknapp having personally run the rule over the 22-year-old in the spring.
Spurs are reported to have made as many as three bids for Damiao and are expected to once again attempt to bring him to White Hart Lane when the transfer window reopens.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have also been tracking the youngster in recent weeks, with Kenny Dalglish's No.2, Steve Clarke, at Craven Cottage to monitor Damiao when Brazil took on Ghana last month.
The Anfield club, though, are in less need of goalscoring reinforcements than Spurs, with Luis Suarez, Craig Bellamy and Andy Carroll among their number.
Spurs, however, are keen to add another striker to their ranks following the sale of Peter Crouch in the summer and the likely departure of Roman Pavlyuchenko.
