Tevez finished at City

Carlos Tevez's apparent refusal to play for Manchester City last night overshadowed Bayern Munich's brilliant display at the Allianz Arena.

City found themselves under siege and 2 down before half-time, with striker Mario Gomez grabbing both of the goals for the home side.

Roberto Mancini tried to change things in the 2nd half, but Tevez appeared unwilling to play, with his City career later declared "finished".


 

Manchester United also endured a miserable night in Europe, salvaging a point in a shock 3-3 draw with Basel at Old Trafford.

United were 2-0 within 20 minutes thanks to Danny Welbeck, but Basel fought back to lead 3-2 before Ashley Young's late equaliser.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson expressed his disappointment at the result, which leaves his side 3rd place in Group C with just 2 points.

Chelsea are in Champions League action tonight, looking for 3 points at Valencia to strengthen their position at the top of Group E.
