Wigan Athletic striker Nouha Dicko is settling into Lancashire life well and hopes to make his Barclays Premier League bow soon.
The 19-year-old French starlet joined the Latics from Strasbourg this summer, but has only made one senior appearance for the club thus far in the Carling Cup against Crystal Palace.
Dicko has been impressing in the reserves though, and opened his second string goal tally with both strikes in a 2-2 draw against Wolves' reserves on Monday. The teenager hopes his performances have not gone unnoticed.
"I have mixed feelings after the Wolves game. I'm glad to have scored my first goals for the club, but we're disappointed we could not win the game, especially as we had the extra man for large periods," he told the official Wigan website.
"Football can be like this sometimes though and I hope we will not make the same mistakes in the future.'
"The Crystal Palace game was a big moment for me, unfortunately we didn't win on the night but hopefully the manager saw something good in me and will get more chances to play for the first team in the future.
"It's what I'm here for, to play for Wigan Athletic in the Premier League. I know to do that I have a lot of hard work still to do but I'm enjoying life here and I'm confident I can carry on improving."
The versatile youngster also has the ability in the wide positions, and would be happy to play in either position were the opportunity to arise.
"I prefer to play as a striker but I'm also comfortable playing on the wing, and I think it will be good for me to be able to play in both positions for the team," he continued.
"All the players have been very welcoming with me and made it easy to settle in, so I feel as though I'm playing well with them."
