Chelsea are reportedly the frontrunners to sign Arsenal and Tottenham target Gary Cahill in January.
According to Metro, the Blues are odds on favourites to beat their London rivals to the signature of the Bolton defender.
Spurs and Arsenal are both known to have made bids of sorts for Cahill during the summer, but Chelsea are thought to have registered their interest just yet.
However, with greater financial clout than Spurs and Arsenal, the Blues are unsurprisingly in driving seat when it comes to Cahill.
Andre Villas-Boas is reported to be keen to add another centre-half to his Stamford Bridge ranks, and Cahill appears to fit the bill for the Chelsea boss.
Harry Redknapp, meanwhile, had attempted to sign the 25-year-old on deadline day in order to further reinforce his Spurs squad.
However, Spurs could not reach an agreement with Bolton, but are expected to return for the England international in the New Year.
Arsenal had also approached Bolton regarding the signing of the former Aston Villa stopper, but Owen Coyle slammed the Gunners' bid as 'derisory'.
Arsene Wenger instead switched his attention to Per Mertesacker, who moved to the Emirates Stadium from Werder Bremen.
