Tottenham Hotspur face competition from AC Milan and Russian side Rubin Kazan for the signature of Alvaro Negredo.
The Spanish striker has been on Harry Redknapp's radar for some time now, with the Spurs boss linked to a summer transfer window move for the player.
However, Italian paper Tuttosport now claim that the Rossoneri will offer Sevilla £12 million for the 26-year-old's services in the January transfer window.
TalkSPORT claim that the Spanish side are reluctant to sell the player before the end of the season though, offering Tottenham Hotspur a lifeline in their pursuit of the player.
Redknapp was linked with a handful of strikers in August, and is again expected to pursue permanent deals for players at White Hart Lane at the end of the season after securing Emmanuel Adebayor on loan at Spurs for the season.
Following Peter Crouch's exit and a probable move away for Roman Pavlyuchenko, a striker signing could be key to the long-term Champions League ambitions of Tottenham Hotspur and, with Sevilla valuing Negredo in the region of £15m, a move for the former Real Madrid man could be on the cards.
