Celtic are close to reaching agreement with Beram Kayal over a new contract reports STV Sport.
The 23-year-old Israeli international midfielder has been in discussions with the club's board, and is poised to commit his long-term future to the SPL giants.
Kayal has established himself as a first-team regular in the Hoops side since moving to Parkhead from Maccabi Haifa in 2010, and after a series of dazzling Celtic Park performances, has attracted attention from a number of potential suitors.
Bhoys boss Neil Lennon is keen to tie Kayal down to a new deal and ward off interest from other clubs, and says he is optimistic about the conclusion.
"Beram had talks with the board again last week and I'm hoping they come to a final resolution pretty soon," he explained. "I don't think they are that far away.
"He knows what we think of him and the fans have taken to him very well. I also think he enjoys playing his football here."
Kayal has certainly become a fans' favourite amongst the Celtic supporters, and the signing of a new contract would be a welcome boost to everybody involved with the club.
