Troy Hewitt will hope to make his debut for stuttering Dagenham as they entertain Crewe.

The striker signed a one-month loan deal from QPR on Thursday and will look to fire the Daggers to a much-needed victory as they look to stop the rot and end a run of five successive league defeats.

The Daggers have struggled for goals this season, scoring only three times during their recent sorry sequence and failing to find the net more than once in a single match all season.

And manager John Still may consider heavier involvement for Gavin Tomlin and DJ Green after they both found the net in Tuesday's 4-4 reserve draw against West Ham.

Medy Elito (groin), Josh Scott (knee), Rob Edmans (fractured leg), Kevin Maher (metatarsal) and Luke Howell all remain unavailable, although Maher did appear as a substitute in the entertaining midweek draw against the Hammers as he steps up his recovery.

Crewe's Ashley Westwood will assume the captain's armband as Lee Bell and Dave Artell have been ruled out.

Bell has a calf strain while Artell is another week away from action after missing the previous four games with a hamstring problem, leaving 21-year-old Westwood in line to lead the Railwaymen.

Nick Powell is available after gaining some playing time with the youth team, and Alex manager Dario Gradi is likely to choose between him and Danny Shelley to fill the void left by Bell's absence.

Gradi has no other injury or suspension concerns for the trip to the Daggers.

He fielded an unchanged starting line-up in their last outing - against local rivals Port Vale - and Powell or Shelley's inclusion could be the only change.
