Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray has challenged his players to secure a seventh successive league away win to avenge last season's thumping defeat at Reading.

The Teessiders head for the Madejski Stadium, where they lost 5-2 in March, on Saturday having gone level on points with leaders Southampton in midweek and knowing a continuation of their form on the road could see them top the npower Championship table.

Mowbray told the club's official website, www.mfc.co.uk: "This was our biggest defeat and the most difficult day in my time here, but the boys will be looking forward to taking our unbeaten record into the game."

He added: "Hopefully they will get another positive performance and a victory on Saturday.

"As an away side, you have got to make things difficult and awkward at times for the home team, who will have some expectation coming from the terraces.

"Hopefully we can continue doing what we have done pretty well and create some uncertainty and capitalise on it."
