FA wait for Merseyside report

Published Add your comment

The Football Association have confirmed they would await the referee's report before deciding whether to take action over the missile-throwing that took place in the Merseyside derby.

A coin appeared to be tossed at Liverpool's Luis Suarez and more than one bottle was launched at team-mate Craig Bellamy while the strikers attempted to take second-half corner kicks during yesterday's fiery Barclays Premier League clash at Goodison Park.

Everton lost the game 2-0 after midfielder Jack Rodwell was controversially sent off in the first half by referee Martin Atkinson.

The FA are likely to receive Atkinson's report on Monday.
