Everton have agreed a deal to sign George Green from Bradford City in a deal which could rise to £2 million.

The 15-year-old has had a number of clubs tracking his progress, however a move to Goodison Park appears to have swayed the midfielder.

Bradford City's head of football development Archie Christie has high hopes for the starlet, who had been tracked by Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Rangers.

"This is one of the highest deals ever for a 15-year-old from a League Two club," he said.

"But George is the best I've seen in his position at his age. He could become another Wayne Rooney or Paul Gascoigne."

Tottenham's interest was significant enough for the player to play a practise match against Aston Villa 10 days ago, where he scored a hat-trick.

Tottenham did invest in a player many have called the new Didier Drogba, when they signed Souleymane Coulibaly in the summer, but have lost to the latest teen protege.
