Adam Johnson believes Mario Balotelli has the ability to score 20 goals for Manchester City this season, following the Italian's starring role against Blackburn on Saturday.
Following Johnson's wonderfully taken opener, Balotelli doubled City's lead at Ewood Park to cap off a fine personal performance for the 21-year-old.
Samir Nasri and Stevan Savic completed the scoring for City, as they stayed level on points with table-toppers Manchester United.
Balotelli's goal represented his third in as many outings for the Citizens, and Johnson expects the temperamental forward to continue finding the net, as long as he can perform consistently.
"Everyone knows what Mario's like but he's a goalscorer," said Johnson.
"He's a man who can get 20 goals a season if he plays as a central striker. He's a big lad, strong - he has all the attributes.
"It's just a case of putting it together week in, week out. He's close to doing that as well.
"You look at his stats and it just proves his goalscoring ability. If you give him a chance, he'll put it away."
