Manchester City were handed some injury relief by striker Sergio Aguero yesterday, 24 hours after the player limped off against Blackburn Rovers.

The Argentine international was set to join up with his international colleagues today, despite Citizens assistant manager David Platt claiming the player could be out for at least two weeks with the groin problem sustained at Ewood Park.

However, the good news came after the 4-0 victory, with 'Kun' revealing he had been given the all clear by his doctor ahead of matches against Chile and Venezuela.

Agero tweeted: "I am very happy because the doctor told me I have only a muscle bound! Tomorrow I come back to the national team!!"

The former Atletico Madrid hitman has eight goals to his name in the Barclays Premier League so far this term, sitting one behind Wayne Rooney in the race for the Golden Boot.

He failed to trouble the scorers this weekend though, with Adam Johnson, Mario Balotelli, Samir Nasri and Stefan Savic grabbing the goals for the visitors in an emphatic victory.
