West Brom are reportedly leading the race for Manchester United target Scott Allan.
According to skysports.com, the Baggies have had an approach for the midfielder rejected by Dundee United, but are expected to return with an improved offer.
United, meanwhile, are said to retain an interest in the 19-year-old, who is also reported to be in the sights of Rangers and Celtic.
Allan is out of favour at Tannadice after rejecting the offer of a new contract from the Terrors amid interest from some of the biggest clubs in Britain.
Allan's agent, John Viola, has demanded his client becomes United's third highest player, but the SPL outfit are not willing to part with such a substantial fee.
It would appear United have an increasingly difficult in keeping hold of the teenager and, unless Neil Lennon, Sir Alex Ferguson or Ally McCoist register their interest, the Hawthorns seems his most likely destination.
Roy Hodgson is alleged to be aware of Manchester United, Celtic and Rangers monitoring Allan, and hopes to seal a deal now, before the young Scot makes his move in January.
