Arsenal playmaker target 'agrees pre-contract' - reports

Arsenal target Eden Hazard has decided to sign for Real Madrid, it has been claimed.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Lille playmaker has rejected an approach from Inter Milan and the Italian giants are now convinced he has a pre-contract agreement with Real.

It has previously been reported that Real's director of football, Zinedine Zidane, had been making a concerted effort to keep Hazard out of the clutches of Arsenal and bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu.

This, it would seem, has now paid dividends and the 20-year-old could move to the Spanish giants next summer, if a deal can be finalised with Lille.

Arsenal have had a long-standing association with Hazard since Arsene Wenger revealed his admiration for the Belgium international.

The Arsenal boss was reported to have made an attempt to sign Hazard during the summer following the departures of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri from the Emirates Stadium.

However, Wenger was forced to settle for Mikel Arteta and Yossi Benayoun in terms of midfield reinforcements.
