Pilgrims nearing takeover

Acting chairman Peter Ridsdale believes Plymouth could be out of administration within a week.

Argyle will hold their 125th anniversary celebrations at Home Park during the visit of Accrington on Saturday and Ridsdale has revealed the Pilgrims may well have more than an impressive milestone to celebrate.

Indeed, the former Leeds and Cardiff chief is confident James Brent and his Akkeron Group are nearing the completion of their takeover, which would signal the end of the club's spell in administration.

"There's a buzz that hopefully we can see the finishing line," Ridsdale told BBC South West.

"Certainly our eye is on trying to it some time next week. People have wanted this day to come for many months now and I think that day is very close.

"We're all working very hard to answer all the questions for the Football League and Professional Footballers' Association to make sure we`re in a position to do it as soon as possible."
