Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh is a target for nouveau-riche French outfit Paris Saint-Germain, it has been claimed.

According to talkSPORT, PSG retain a long-standing interest in Chamakh and sporting director Leonardo has already sounded out the Moroccan forward.

PSG are expected to make significant moves in January, having spent over £70 million on new recruits in the summer, thanks to Qatari backing.

Chamakh, meanwhile, has failed to live up to expectations at Arsenal since moving to the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer last year.

The 27-year-old netted 12 times in 45 appearances for the Gunners last season - including only one goal after November - and has got used to life on the Arsenal bench.

Chamakh has played in four of Arsenal's seven Barclays Premier League outings this term and, while Robin van Persie remains fit, he is unlikely to regain a starting berth.
